A total of 18 projects have arrived in response to the 2020 Call for Proposals, all considered valid for their technical realisation and the quality of the artistic proposal.

The Commission decided and selected the proposals considering the originality of the works, the link with the territory and the compliance with the request in the Call for Proposals regarding projects having as their theme a literary work set in Lake Como, a writer or scientist from Como.

The following were selected:

• Category A: Project proposed by the Daily Centre for Disabled in Cerbaiola, Empoli – “The Shelley Letter.”
• Category A: Project proposed by the Mosaic Workshop of the Elderly Social Centre Esquilino, Rome
• Category B: Project proposed by Luca Mandaglio of Como – “La Nairöla“
• Category B: Project proposed by Emilio Alberti of Albavilla, Como – “Pliny the Elder – Naturalis Historia‘.
• Category B: The Project Giovanni Barzan of Venaria Reale, Turin, proposed is “A window overlooking the lake“

In addition to these works selected:

Valentina Vezzani – Artist Narni – category B; Title: A late winter’s love dance realised with the contribution/sponsorship of Momi Riva Stendhal Restaurant in Blevio.

The Commission congratulated all the participating artists as the level and quality of the projects were extremely high, inviting the participants to the subsequent editions.

The visit programme of the Literary Park from Plinio to Volta will include the Mosaic Park, which officially opened in March 2020. For this reason, there will be a particular focus on the combination of mosaic and literature in this Call and the subsequent ones.

Given the difficulties caused by the pandemic, there will be no inauguration. The work will stage between August and October. The first ones will be presented on 9th August at 7 p.m. in the park by the lake.
